Show SUCCESSION TO SERVIAN THRONE IS RENOUNCED Belgrade, March 25. George, the Crown Prince of Servrta, has renounced renounc-ed his right of succession to the Servian Ser-vian throne. This action Is the result of a bitter press campaign In which the crown prince was accused of being the causo of the recent death of ono of his servants, a man named Kolkovlch. Kolko-vlch. The servant, Kolkovlch, was removed re-moved to a hospital last, week suffering suffer-ing from serious Internal injuries, and he died after an operation. According to the report of the doctors who per- formed an autopsy, the man suffered from hernia and his death was due from a serious Injury consequent upon falling down stairs. The press and public, however, re-fused re-fused to accept this explanation and openly voiced their suspicions that the prince was responsible for the death of the servant. The suspicion grew to such proportions that It was impossible impossi-ble to hush it up. In a subsequent report, before his death. It was asserted as-serted that he had been knocked down by the crown prince. Reports of .brutalities of this kind by the hair-brained youth since he came to Belgrade are often told. Officials Of-ficials of high and low degree are 6ald to have been beaten and fired on by the prince during fits of crazy anger. Another story credits him with the murder of a game keeper; still another an-other attempt to kill two rootmen, .who opposed his efforts to force his way into- a Belgrade nunnery. According to the terms or the Servian Ser-vian constitution, the renunciation ot the crown prince can be accepted only by the grand assembly berore which, the matter will be laid tomorrow. |
