Show SPECIAL EXAMINER HOLDS AN ADJOURNED SESSION Los Angeles, May 19. Special Examiner Ex-aminer J. D. Lederman of the Interstate Inter-state commerce commission, held an adjourned session of the holding conducted con-ducted here last January by commissioner commis-sioner Franklin K. Lane in the case of the Los Angeles jobbers association associa-tion against the Southern Pacific, Santa Fe and Salt Lake railroads charging discrimination in switching charges against the local merchants. 1 The allegations are that the railroad! impose a charge of $2.50 for each car switched to a private track or to the tracks of another railroad company which practice does not prevail in but one or two other cities. It is asserted as-serted that the charge means a lots of several hundred thousand dollars annually to the local shippers. The evidenco at the hearing today consisted consist-ed principally of maps and charts showing the relative cost of switch' lng. |
