Show SIGHTS ICEBERG ONE HUNDRED HUN-DRED AND TWENTY FEET HIGH New York, May 19 Captain Pol-lak Pol-lak of the steamship Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse, which arrived here yesterday, yes-terday, reported the sighting of an iceberg 125 feet high, and thereupon made the unique suggestion that the United States government send out a specially equipped war vessel for the purpose of blowing up with dynamite dyna-mite all icebergs that might float Into In-to the path of trans-Atlantic Bleam-ers. A., returned on the Kaiser Kais-er Wilhelm Der Grosse from the Philippines, Phil-ippines, where he had served three years in tho Mindanao district. Colonel Col-onel Perly said that the Philippines were improving both from a sanitary and a commercial point of view. He said that many of the soldiers who had finished their terms of enlistment had settled there and were raising hemp successfully. |
