Show BOISE WOMAN MEETS WITH SUCCESS. HER PONIES AT RACES GIVE GOOD ACCOUNT OF THEMSELVES. Miss Murdock Is One of Few Women With Whom Racing Is a Business. Racing as a business is a vocation in which one finds but few ladies, and when one is. found it is a pleasure to find her as successful as is Miss Maude Murdock. who has a string of ponies' at the Ogden race meet Miss Murdock has three horses with her Balna.le, Boloman and Otto Price and each of them has given a good account of himself in the races at this point, Balnade being the biiglit particular par-ticular star of the galaxy, as he won again yesterday, this being the third time he has made good in Ogden. Miss Murdock, who is from Boise, Ida., devotes her whole time to her horses and overlooks no detail in their care or training. She has a reputation reputa-tion among horsemen as being one of the best judges of a piece of horseflesh horse-flesh in the west,1 and she has shown rare discrimination in the' buying of her stable, there not being a dead one In tho lot. Like a good sport. Miss Murdock always plays her own horses to win, aud brought over a good one jesterday, as the odds on Balnade were at twelve to one. Only a small part of the public put their money on Balnade, or the bookies would have been put out of business bodily. |
