Frank Wilson was arraigned on the charge 'of mendicancy, having been arrested on Twenty-fifth street for begging from pa6sers-by. He admitted admit-ted that he was guilty of the offense, whereupon the court extended him-, a, 20 day stretch on the rock pile. Leonard Crosby was charged with vagrancy and pleaded guilty. The officers of-ficers were asked regarding him, but, no information forthcoming, the court remarked to the effect that personally he did not like the prisoner's looks, upon the strength of which a suspended suspend-ed sentence of 9u days was imposed, the judge adding:- "If I thought he was a 'parasite,' I'd give him the limit." Charles Gauch pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness and was given the customary fine of ?5 or five days. Roy Alcorn, James Davis and A. S. Holmes were arraigned on the charge of vagrancy to which they each pload-ed pload-ed guilty. Detective Pender volunteered volun-teered the information that the fellows had been detected "juggling" fraudulent fraudu-lent checks at the Union depot and , that they were wholly undesirable as ' citizens of the commonwealth. The court acted upon the officer's recommendation recom-mendation and suspended a 00-day sentence sen-tence under condition that they get out of town within an hour. I Dan' Allen was charged with drunk-! drunk-! enness. He admitted that he had been full but, as he had a job to go to, he would like permission to do so. The court advised him to wait five days, thinking that the change of scene as , well as labor would be beneficial. |
