No. 9, the fast, mail train from the east, arrived at Ogden on. time this afternoon, and was held In this city r.rtll No. 1, the west-bound Overland Limited, arrived at 4:50 and the two trains were then consolidated and sent to San Francisco over the San Pedro route. The train consisted of Tour mall cars, one chair car, dynamo car, diner and four standard sleepers and j this train was sent south to Salt Lake ' at 5.10 p. in in charge of a South-i ern Pacific passenger conductor wno , will run through to Los Angeles, looking look-ing after the transportation and comfort com-fort of passengers, while the train will be operated by a San Pedro train crew. West bound No. 3, which left Ogden Friday morning over the Southern Pacific Pa-cific road, was brought back to Og- oen this morning irom wum taking through coast passengers from Union Pacific No. 3 this morning, was i,ent to Los Angeles over the San Te-dro Te-dro road with a Southern Pacific' conductor con-ductor in charge of the passengers and , a San Pedro crew to operate the train 1 from Salt Lake west. I The following order has been issued 1 by General Superintendent Davis:' "Until further notice we will detour all Overland passenger trains 'via Los Ai.geles. The San Pedro company will provide train and engine crews over that road. The Utah division or the Oregon Short Line will furnish train and engine crews if necessary, using Southern Pacific engines to handlo trains between Ogden and Salt Lake. Southern Pacific conductor should accompany train- from Ogden to Los Angeles to look after transportation transpor-tation and comfort of passengers. "The Salt Lake division will run No. 5 and No. 3 out of Ogden west to take care, of local passengers, and run two local trains daily east from Reno if no connections from the west aro niede "there. "Dining cars will be. sent through over the San Pedro road on all trains,, and passengers on the local trains between be-tween Ogden and Reno will be fed at eating stations. "Until further orders. Rio Grande sleepers will be delivered to Southern Pacific trains at Salt Lake and sent to tho coast over the San Pedro road." The stub train west over tho Southern South-ern Pacific road will consist of a mail, baggage, day coach, tourist and Standard Stand-ard sleeper, five cars in all, and no Southern Pacific train sent over the .San Pedro road must exceed eleven cars. Is four feet eleven and one half Inches In height and bears a large ecar, two and one-half inches in length, on his head. Ralph Gardner Is from Vernal, Utah, and is five feet six inches in height, weighs 130 pounds, has blue eyes, dark ! brown hair, and a red and yellow i tattoo mark in the form of a star, near the elbow. He wore new shoes and was dressed in coat and overalls. A reward of $10 Is offered by the institution in-stitution for the apprehension, of tho boys. |
