Show MiY TRICKS IN AUTO BUSINESS t There ar tricks In all trades, but once In a wlle ,i motorlsl runs across a trick that Is distinctly out of place, as witness the following Incident, described de-scribed by a member: Coming over the houlevard one evening, eve-ning, a motorist had his machine stop ' dead on him in the midst of a congested congest-ed traffic. He and his friends got out ! and vainly looked for the- trouble. The chauffeurs of the machines parked j nearby did the usAil amount of Josh-' ing at his expense, but offered no help. Finally a youftg man, who was in the automobile business, happened along and offered his services. After looking over the engine, wiling, carburetor. carbu-retor. ucuum system and g-.n line, he finally opened the k.i tans which happened to have ,k gOOd-slsed aperture, aper-ture, which admitted his hand Mtid part of his arm. As there were three and! a half gallons of gas in the tank the1 puzzle was all the greater. ipon reaching in the tank, however. he. found the suction gas line was turned ' up Instead of down. It Is supposed I that this was done by a second-hand dealer so thai ho could purchase the , machine ai a low price because It j would not run. on |
