Show HIGH SCHOOL MILITARY BALL IS GREAT SUCCESS One of tho smartest events of the season was the military ball given' Friday evening at Berlhana lialL by tho Ogden High school unit of. the re-servo re-servo officers training camp. Perhaps the chief feature of the ovont was tho silent drill given by a group oC students In uniform. This drill brought forth tumultuous applause. ap-plause. Mayor Frank Francis and Commissioner Commis-sioner J. Ray Ward were among the guests of honor. At tho conclusion of the drill tho iclty officials were saluted. sa-luted. A decided military touch was given tho party by reason of the service uniforms uni-forms worn by tho High school students stu-dents and the members o the Amerl- can Legion, who wcro tho especial guests of the High school. A Many parents of the High school boys and girls and frlend3 of tho institution in-stitution were present and enjoyed the party to Iho utmost. Excellent dance music was furnished. furn-ished. The High school girls nnd other oth-er young women looked charming in their party frocks. Tho refreshments were delicious and in fact overything that went to make up the affair was of a high order. Pcory have returned to Ogden from a three weeks wedding tour along the Pacific Pa-cific coast, extending from brJUah Columbia to Mexico. Among the cities tho visited were Vancouver, B. C; Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. Mex-ico. Mr. and Mrs. Pcory will, be at homo to their friends at tho Poery apartments for a short time. Thoy will occupy ono of the Pcory cottages In Ogden canyon during tho summer. Mr. and Mrs. William Douglas returned re-turned from a month's visit in San 'Francisco, Los Angoles and tho beach f cities. Whllo in Los Angeles, Airs. Douglas was ontertalned extensively by Mrs. D. J. Sheehan and a number of other Ogden residents. Mlsg ' Lucllc McFarland was the complimented guest at a welcorno homo party given Wednesday evening by the members of the West Wober ward in tho amusement hall of tho ward. A very Interesting program was given during tho early evening. This was followed by a dance in tho ward hall. Refreshments wore served at tho close of tho evening. Miss McFarland Mc-Farland recently returned from California, Cali-fornia, where she was working as a missionary of the L. D. S. church. |
