Above the cement driveway nnd at the rear of the home the flags were especially pretty Here dancing was enjoyed by the merry party, music being furnished by a splendid five-piece orchestra. Beneath a bower cf fragrant pink ramblers young ladies served refreshments refresh-ments during the entire evening. Among those present at the affair was Mayor Samuel Browning who de-! de-! livered a short address in commenda ! tion of the War Camp Community Service and of Reverend John Ed.vard Carver who is secretary of the Service in Ogden Reverend Carver also gave a short talk to the assembled guests and announced the opening of the Ser-vice Ser-vice rooms at the University club, where Miss Mildred Bartcn will be in .charge from 2 o'clock each afternoon until 11 in the evening. All ex-service men will be welcomed and should there be demand for an earlier opening of the rooms, arrangements for the club to be open in the morning will be made Reverend Carver also announced announc-ed that there would be a number of other entertainments for the returned Jmen and hoped that a large number would be present at each affair during the summer. The next party, which will also be an open-air event, will be announced in the near future BRIDGE PARTY. Mrs. E. Townsend was hostess to a number of friends at a bridge par-! ty gh en at her home last Friday eve- I ning in honor of her sister, Mrs. James A. Chrisman of Green River. Vn who Is visiting in Ogden for a few j days. The guests enjoyed cards and. .prizes were given to Mis. Henry Gee, Frank Irving ol Chicago and Mr, I Brett.- Harris Later the hostess served luncheon. |
