Show INTERESTING EVENTS AT GOLF LINKS ON SUNDAY An interesting competitive golf program pro-gram has been prepared for members of the Ogden Golf and Country club every Sunday in July. The first event tomorrow will be the contest for the H. C. Blgelow cup for women. Many have expressed their Intention of entering en-tering the contests. The weather at the Country club has been for the last month almost better than could be expected. Many people I have visits tho rub an3 ergoged in sport on the course. Following is the program for July I and the rulos for each event. Sunday, July 6. No. 1 H. C. Bigelow cup for women. No. 2 Qualifying round for Julv cup for men. Sunday, July 13. No 3 Flag contest. Sunday, July 20. No. 4 Qualifying round for President's Presi-dent's cup for men. No. 5 Qualifying round for Prcsl-I Prcsl-I dont's cup for women. Sunday, July 27. No. C Ogden team at Salt Lake. Event No. 1. Lowest net score turned In wins Lady winning three times is given the cup Event No. 2. First sixteen net .scores qualify. Elimantion contests follow by match play. Finals to be played by Sunday, July 27. Event No. 3. Flag contest, nlrance fee Each player is given a I lag bearing his name and a number, the total of seventy-six and his handicap. Player plants his flag where his ball lies at the end of this number of strokes. For rxample If a player's handicap 18 20. he plants his flag at the end of Ins ninety-sixth stroke Player going the farthest wins, even if necessary to play some strokes on the third nine. Separate prizes for men and women. Event No. 4. Lowest four or eight scores qualify, depending on whether there arp ten or more contestants. Elimination by match play to follow as in May and Junr-. Event No. 5. First sixteen net scores qualify. Con tests by match play follow, with finals by Sunday, August 17. Event No. 6. The Salt Lake Country club has extended ex-tended an invitation to all members of our club to play in Salt Lake Saturday and Sunday, with a special invitation for the Saturday night dinner. A team of eight from Ogden will plav their team on Sunday. In all contests when a player drives a ball into either lake he must count a penalty of one stroke and then drive again from behind the lake. On No 6, this must be done from the tee, on No. 9 from tee or bank on north edge of Joke. Balls must not be driven from alongside of loke. |
