A. A, recognized that since woman is going to extend her activities in many directions it is also her duty to help along the country wide improvement of highways. Mrs. Robert Lee Morrell of New York City was included in the i list of the vice presidents, and upon being notified of the unanimous action of the convention immediately w lred her acceptance of office and entire I willingness to call upon women voters I of the various states for a vlgDTOdS cooperation to secure a federal road plan to supplement the state systems. As usual tho meeting was attended 1 by former presidents of the A. A. A., i these Ihree being present: D. H. M. Rowe of Maryland, John A. Wilson of Franklin, Pa., and Robert P Hooper of Philadelphia. It is characteristic of the association's past chief officers, that they invariably continue active in the affairs of the organization, which now has a total membership In excess of 200,000. David Jameson of Pennsylvania without opposition was returned to the presidency! and the other vice presidents presi-dents named besides Mrs. Morrell were Ralph W. Smith of Colorado. P. J. Walker of California. H J Clark of Minnesota, Clifford Ireland of Illinois, Dr. John H. Quayle of Ohio, and Dr. U. R. Elmore of Kentucky. H. A. Bon-nell Bon-nell of New Jersey continues as treasurer.
