Show Gladys Rich Is ! Enjoying Her ; Visit to Paris Another fine letter has been received receiv-ed from Miss Gladys Rich, daughter1 ! of Dr. and Mrs. Ezra Rich, tellirig of her experiences in Pans Miss Rich,' who went to France as the Utah representative rep-resentative of the Federated Women's ' clubs, writes 6n Paris as follows "Paris. France. March 2, 1919. "Dear Family. Well, I am still in' I Paris and beginning to worry for fear I shall have to stay here until sum-' i mer. waiting to be assigned to a unit. I Our conference ended Thursday and 1 was transferred from the canteen to ' the entertainment department and will gr out on the road within the next i week or so as accompanist in a group of five or six entertainers In this way I shall be able to travel around considerably con-siderably instead of being placed In I i one spot for so long at & time. Of 'course the life of the entertainer is I g n rally a strenuous one. being on ' the continual move, but 1 don't think 1 Will mihd "much and I am mighty am j lous to see as much of the country as possible. The other girls have all been assigned to Biarritz, j big new leave I area on the cons of France, near Spain, where they have the Pyrennes for a background and the Bay of Bifc j cay for a loreground. U is a wonderful location and I would like to be going i wit hthem, but may gei down there "later on. The last two days we have been pretty busy, having interviews, , making out our accounts and turning them in. Howmer. we have managed with it all to do some sightseeing Fri-!da Fri-!da we went 'seeing Paris' with about thirty doughboy?, in an open truck which the Y. M. C. A. furnishes with a competent guide, and we bad a per- feet circus How 'in the world the boys can crab the Y' I don't know, for ' they practically live off from it here j in Paris Of course we stood up all the way, hanging over the sides and I the railings over the top I never i 'toured' a city more efficiently before and it reminded me or the o"u times w'hen we were all here together and ( vou don't know how homesick I am to .have you here with me again ' |
