Show uu Canyon Road in Need of Repair Says Taxpayer Editor Standard I am a reader of your valuable paper. I notice a letter from the Merchants' association of Ogden, Og-den, addressed to the Utah State Road commission under dale of June 3, asking ask-ing the commission to designate Twenty-fourth street trom Washington ave nue to Harrison avenue as a stale highway. Now if I be allowed to express ex-press my views on the subject, I would -suggest that as there is now a paved street connecting Washington avenue with Harrison. (Twenty fifth street) I it would bo a pious idea if w e had some street north of the river bridge as a slate highway. The old canyon i road from W ashington avenue to the 'mouth of the canyon Is :i disgrace lo i the city o.' Ogden and also Weber county. coun-ty. I am a taxpayer I believe that we need a good road on the north I side of the river connecting with Washington avenue and iho road through the canyon. But rouic citizens citi-zens think it. is only necensrj-y lo have , roads in the business per: of the cily. There are many orchard.", on the old canyon road and it is almost impossible impos-sible to get the fruit to the market in good condition. (Signed) TAXPAYER. oo |
