George Washington bearing President Wilson said the vessel would reach Ambrose channel lightship at noon Tuesday and dock al Hoboken about 3 p m. President Approves Plans WASHINGTON, July 5 President Wilson has approved the program for his reception at New York Tuesday. He will land at Hoboken at 2 "0 o'-l clock, cross on the ferry to Manhattan and proceed by automobile o Carnegie hall where formal welcoming ceremonies cere-monies will be held. The president plans to make a brief; address in reply to the welcome by jovernor Smith and Mayor Hyland, but the understanding at the White House is that he will not touch on the peace treaty and the league of na-! lions. After the exercises at Carnegie' hall he will start for Washington on a special train. White House officials have not been advised of the president's .plans after he arrives here, but the general expectation expec-tation is that he will present the peace treaty io the senate Wednesday , or Thursday. Later he expects to make a "swing around the circuit" speaking for the treaty and the league. NEW YORK. Juh 5 Joseph P. Tumulty, Tu-multy, secretary to President Wilson, announced here today that according to the present program, Mr. Wilson will address the senate on Thursday. |
