II in Great Britain during June, the American chamber of commerce, in'il London says that with the disband- ! ment of the imports consultative iH council little change may be expected in import restrictions on American goods before September. Sir Auckland Gcddes, minister of reconstruction, the report says, has ! informed parliament that the govern- ' ment has a draft of a trade policy S prepared but it cannot yet be diuleed. L Sir Auckland claims, it is added, that the policy of restricting imports is j Justified because it protests British manufacturers and supports sterligfc H exchange and therefore, he cannot H guarantee that the restrictions will be entirely removed after September. H The drop in sterling exchange in I New York during June, the chambers jj report declares, is considered here to be the result of the United States temporarily tem-porarily withdrawing financial support from the market.
