Show f i Society V . J BOHEMIAN CLUB DANCE. Tho first of a series of dances will be given by the Bohomlan club nex Tuesday evening at the Berthana. The Bohemian club is the select organization organiza-tion of Ogden's society folk and in past years the parties conducted by tho club have been accorded a place with the big events of the winter season. Due to the fact that the war has taken many members from the roster of the club, and to anticipate tho wishes of the members still in the city as to the advisability of continuing tho dances this season, a circular lettor was mailed to each member to ascertain the opinion of each as to the course to pursue. Enough favorable replies have been received to justify the club in continuing the dances this year. The Bohemian club was organized several years ago, and its functions have become known throughout the state. The membership is exclusive, each applicant being passed on by a committee before admittance to membership. mem-bership. At each party, dancing is enjoyed from 9 o'clock until midnight, after which a nicely appointed luncheon was served in J.he banquet room. The Lillian Thatcher orchestra has been engaged for this year's dances, as In the past. Punch will be served throughout the evening. Invitations to join the club have been issued to a number of men of the city, to fill tho membership roll depleted by the war. There are also present members who have friends they desire to participate in the enjoyable en-joyable parties and they are asked to communicate with Secretary Lawrence T. Dee as soon as possible. WILL GIVE SUPPER. The ladles of the Christian church will give a supper and friendship meeting at the church, corner of Madison Madi-son avenue ond Twenty-fourth street, this evening. Supper will be served from 6 o'clock until all havo been served. Miss Mary Maples of Denver is visiting visit-ing her brother, Thomas Maples, of the O. L. &. I. railroad. DRAMA CLUB The Drama club will meet on Saturday,. Satur-day,. November 24, at tho Maids' and Matrons' club with Miss Viola Clancy and Miss Louise Pierce as hostesses. Miss Inez V. Adams will give an article ar-ticle on "Mollere and the French Drama" and Mrs. T. Earl Pardoe will give a paper on "Pelleas and Melli-sande." Melli-sande." (-Maeterlinck). A song by De Bussy will be given by one of the club members. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shaw announce the engagement of their daughter Ella, to Wilford A. Hoag of Salt Lake. The marriage will occur in the near future. MEET TOMORROW The pillow caso section of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church bazaar will meet with Mrs. Taylor, 2555 Fowlor avenue, Friday Fri-day afternoon at 2 o'clock when all work that is finished must be handed in. The next meeting will bo held at the home of Mrs. Fox, 2546 Fowler avenue, Friday, November 30. -oo |
