Tener, president of the National league, said he would not be a party to any selfish plan of dis-crimination,nnd dis-crimination,nnd by so doing he has saved the professional ball players from a severe reflection. This move was on a par with the demand of certain officials of eastern cities that policemen be exempted from the draft. Ball playing, particularly by professionals, profes-sionals, Is not an essential Industry.
