Show IPARCEL POST PACKAGE is been mm TO 7! PODS Postmaster W. W. Browning has been formally advised that the limit on fourth class mall matters parcel post has been increased from 50 to 70 pounds. The change becomes effective ef-fective March 15 and is operative in tho first, second and third zones. "Tho order means," explained Postmaster Post-master Browning, "that after March 15, farmers and tho public generally may send parcel post packages weighing weigh-ing 70 pounds. Heretofore, the limit has been 50 pounds. It is primarily a war-time measure to permit farmers and others to seDd produce by the quickest and most economical method." meth-od." It also was announced this morning at the Federal building that fourth class mail matter consigned to any zone has been increased from 20 to 50 pounds. The regulation fixing the limit on parcel post packages forwarded for-warded to soldiers in France at seven pounds remains unchanged. Both orders become effective March 15. |
