So too did assertions that with a normal spring no com would be moving from farms three weeks hence, as farmers would then be busy with field work. The prevailing prevail-ing warm, moist weather was regarded also as likely to restrict the crop move' ment. After opening unchanged at $1.27 May, the market scored a slight advance. Signs of oxport demand at St. Louis tended to strengthen the oats market. Buying here, however, was only of a scattered character. Opening prices, which ranged from the same as Saturday's Sat-urday's finish-to c Higher, with May 87 c to 8704 c, were followed by a moderate upturn. Lower quotations on hogs weakened provisions.
