THURSDAY After, a brave struggle which has lasted for over a year, all that was mortal of Mrs. Jessie Mcintosh Gait passed to tho great beyond on Thursday Thurs-day morning at 5 o'clock. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family and will be sadly missed by all with whom she has associated. Mrs. Gait was born of Mormon parentage par-entage In Edinburgh, Scotland, the daughter of Peter and Christina Mcintosh, Mc-intosh, and was married to Mathew A- Gait on November 18, 1878 and emi-1 emi-1 grated to Ogden, Utah, on July 5, 1887, where she has made her home among her family and friends since. Mrs. Gait was a devout Latter-day Saint and, had her health permitted, would have been an enthusiastic worker work-er for her religion. One of her sons passed away just one year ago and this was thought to have hastened her death as it was indeed in-deed a sad blow to a mother heart. She leaves a host of sorrowing friends besides hor husband and the following children: Mrs. R. J. Collins, Col-lins, Mrs. J, L. Burton, -Mrs. M. A. Nelson, Miss Violet Gait, Mr. M. Gait, Jr., of Ogden; Mrs. Ji W. Walters of Kerman, Calif., and Mr. Poler Gait of Aznsa, Calif. The casket will be open to friends at the home, 360 Goddard avenue on ednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until the time of funeral services. Funeral will be held in tho First ward meeting houso on Grant avenue and Thirty.first street Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at 2 o'clock. oo |
