Show FAREWELL PARTY IS! GIVEN TO DE1TII SOLDIER W A farewell party was given last night for John TImmers of Ogden, who early Jn the summer offered his services serv-ices If they should be needed and who will leave November 3 for Camp Lewis. He was entertained by tno choir of the Ninth ward, of which ho Is a member, at 2832 Monroe avenue. About fifty guests were present, including in-cluding the bishop and counsellors of the ward. Mr, TImmers' brother died a few weeks ago and for that reason lie was not required to go with the first contingent. Mr. TImmers has seen ono and one-half one-half years' service with the army of Holland ns a sergeant and so is well up in military skill. He has been working as a piano tuner at Glen Bros. Mr. Timmers has sold his home at 3901 Ogden avonue in anticipation of going to war. nn |
