Knit two, purl two stitches for four inches. Knit plain until sweater measures 23 inches (Including ribbing). The plain knitting should measure about 20 Inches across. Knit 2S stitches, bind off 24 stitches for neck. Knot 2S stitches. Knit seven ribs on each shoulder, cast on 24 stitches. Knit plain for 19 inches. Purl two, knit two stitches for four Inches. Sow up sides, leaving nine inches for armholes. '' Put a round of single crochet stitches on neck and sleeva openings. The provision for the neck and nrmholcs is not found on all the official offi-cial directions, but is an excellent one, especially for tho beginner, as It will help to tighten and keep firm the full edges if the garment happens to bo loscly knitted. |
