Show lAVERHBI San Francisco Has Game Won by Lead of 7 to 0 When Portland Bunches Hits for Five Runs. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 3. The Seals won a wildly exciting game today, to-day, 9 to 8. They bad the gamo sewed up by a lead of 7 to 0 when the Beavers camo to life in tho soventh and bunched six blows. Herb Hunter drove out a three-bagger with the bases full and that did a lot of damage. Spider Bauni stayed with tho ship nnd got by the eighth Inning all right, but another bunch of trouble bobbed up in .the ninth. Fincher was first up and he mado his fourth hit, a double. He was lifted to let Bill Rodgers run for him. The next two men wont out, but Wille drove him home with a sin-' gle. Then Ken Williams drove tho ; ball over the right field fence and Portland was leading, 8 to 7. James was sent in to pitch the last of tho ninth, but he conld not get the ball over nnd after he had walked Koerner he was lifted and Byron Houck went in. He walked Baker. Maisel went to bat for Baum and bunted the ball right at Griggs, who fumbled, and the bases wore full with none out. Fitzgerald hit hard to Griggs, who threw Smith, running for Koerner, out at the plate. Pick popped to Farmer, but Calvo drove a long fly to right, the ball hitting the fence just out of Wilie's reach and two runs scored, breaking up the game.
