Show TSIlliE GIVES SOLDIER BOYS I. FAREWELL Tho town of Huntsvllle, which 1b gaining an enviable reputation for Its way of holding celebrations, again came to the front 'last evening when it turned out to do honor to its sons who have enlisted for service in France. A "send-off," the like of which has not been surpassed in any town in the state, was arranged for the members of the National Guard and regular army who claim Huntsvllle as their home. The village hall was the scene of tho farewell reception, banquet, and dance which was staged in honor of the Huntsvllle soldier boys, and practically prac-tically every man, woman, and child in tho community dropped In for the festivities. A banquet table seating two hundred people at a time was loaded with good things to eat, and though it .waB filled several times over during the course of tho evening, no one went away unsatisfied. Judge N. G. Harris and other prominent prom-inent citizens were heard in speeches, and following the banquet there was dancing in which old as well as young people participated. The boys from Huntsvllle who have answered the call to the colors Include In-clude Clarence Dabb, Con Koymow, Warren Taylor, James Burton, George Bell, Levi Murdock, George Funk, Julius Ju-lius Anderson and Wilfred Shurtliff. nn |
