Show l STRIKE IS NOT TO OCCUR. Yesterday gave promise of a great railroad strike, and the outlook was gloomy. Today the clouds have rolled by and the sun is shining. Government mediators have been brought into the controversy and, instead in-stead of the clash which was expected, expect-ed, attended by the tying up of trains, the men will continue at work and the labor dispute with t& Southern Pacific will be settled by an Impartial board which will weigh the claims of both sides. Strikes, at best are destructive. The Innocent public puffers most, and too i often the conflict does not lay the 1 foundation for an enduring understand- ing between the contending forces. |
