Some of those present gave of their musical art, LUNCHEON AT UTAH On Saturday last Mrs. George V. Schramm and Mrs. E. W. Matson wore joint hostesses at a luncheon at the Hotel Utah. Those who were present from Ogden were Mrs. Jack Browning, Brown-ing, Mrs. Rose Sweet Woodruff, Mrs. Robert S. Joyce, Mrs. Henry C. Hlb-berd Hlb-berd and Miss Kathryn Joyce. UTOPIA CLUB Members of tho Utopia club assembled assem-bled at Lacoon vesterdav to enlov the attractive offerings at that popular resort re-sort A basket lunch was carried down by tho club and after the sun went down this party of congenial friends danced until a late hour, then motored back under the moonlight, SOC UNDER HEAD INFORMAL DINNER PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Jack Browning were among the hostesses who entertained at dinner at the Hotel Utah Monday last and they had as their guests Mrs. Rose Sweet Woodruff and Mr. A. H. Cousins. Mrs. Woodruff has been a guest at tho Hermitage during the past fortnight fort-night and returns to the city today to take up her residence at tho Browning home, 2529 Jackson avenue, during their trip north. Society will welcome this attractive young matron to their midst again. WEEK-END AFFAIR Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Abbott aro entertaining over tho week-end, Mr. and Mrs. William Loomis and daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Marian, whoso home is in Mendota, 111. They have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Abbott at Devil's Slide, for several weeks and they all motored down for a few days' vlBit hero. Miss Marian has spent much time with tho Abbotts during the winter and has made many friends who regret her return to her home in the east. Both tie rooms occupied by the chapter of tho Red Cross and the Maids' and Matrons' club are to be closed until the first week In September, Septem-ber, when the activities of the fall season sea-son will begin. LUNCHEON Mrs. C. E. Groosbeck honored Mrs. Jack Browning on Tuesday last at her attractive home in Salt Lake when she ontortnined at a luncheon. It was a small, intimate affair, charming in every detail. PARTY AT BERTH ANA MONDAY Much pleasure Is being anticipated by the youngor set in the party to be given Monday evening noxt at the Berthana, whoro Mrs. David Eccles has asked 500 guests to enjoy a dancing danc-ing party she is giving in honor of her son Jack, who leaves on August 7 with battery B for San Francisco. Tho guests will Include many of the boys of battery B and the boys who have been in training at Jordan Narrows Nar-rows will enjoy a -wonderful evening at the Berthana as the guests of this charming hostess. Mrs. Eccles will be assisted by her daughters, Misses Veda, Lila and Vivian. MISS EGAN TO LEAVE OGDEN Numerous affairs of an informal nature na-ture have marked the stay in this city of Miss Lou Verna Egan, who has for the past two months been the guest of Miss Lophelia Runyon on Jefferson avenue. Friends are regretting her leave-taking today, when she returns to her home. TO ENTERTAIN On Tuesday afternoon at her home Mrs. Sydney J. Trout will entertain, in honor of Mrs. C. E. Garrison of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mrs. J. A. Walker of Springfield, who are the house guests of Mrs. E. W. Browning.
