Show TWO KILLED; TEN HURT Four Other Bombs Found Members of Crew Suspect German Agent. A PACIFIC PORT, Sept. 21. Explosion Explo-sion of a bomb In sacks of nitrate being be-ing loaded on tho Papanese passenger and freight steamer Seiyo Maru, at Iquique, Chile, killed two persans and injured ten, it was reported on tho arrival ar-rival of the vessel today. After the blast four other bombs were found. Members of the crow said a German agent was suspected. The Rev. John Reeder of South Pasadena, Pas-adena, Cal., and others told of the ak tempt to wreck the vessel. Rev. Reeder Reed-er said a Gorman painter working near the pier whero the Seiyo Maru was docked had beon arrested following the explosion and that a box of dynamite and bombs had been found In his house. Tho steamer left while the Chiloan authorities were investigating, he said. Those killed included two soldiers who were loading the nitrato on to a lighter vessel, which conveyed It to the vessel, passengers said. An examination of the othetr sacks of nitrate revealed the remaining sulphuric sul-phuric acid bombs concealed in fruit cans, according to the reports. |
