Show uu i PRESIDENT OF CHOIR j RESIGNS OWING TO I BUSINESS The Tabernacle choir hold an onthu- slastlc rehearsal last night on the new program of music to bo studied this season. Selections from Mendelssohn's "Elijah" and Dubois' "Seven Last Words of Christ," were rehearsed as well as two detached choruses . The attendance was large and a most profitable evening spent It Is the purpose of Director Jos. Ballcn-tyne Ballcn-tyne to present In the noar future a section from Elijah, Including tho famine fam-ine and widow scenes. Work is "progressing "pro-gressing nicely also on DubolB' "Seven "Sev-en Last Words." Extra rehearsals are being held for the balance of this month as follows: Sunday, 1:30, for the men only and at 2 o'clock for all choir members. Monday, from 8 until 9 o'clock, the women meet for separate practico. Thursday, from 7:30 until 8; 15, the men alone, and at 8:15 all choir members mem-bers In the Interpretation of music when notes have been learned. With these extra temporary rehearsals rehear-sals Professor Ballantyno can make preparation of many new choruses. Announcement was also made at last night's rehearsal that Wlllard Scow-croft, Scow-croft, because of business duties which called him away from Ogden so fre- quently, had regretfully tendered his resignation as president of tho choir. The presidencies of the three stakes have tho matter under advisement and on Thursday next -will moot with the choir to present tho nnmo of a now president. |
