Show A WOODEN WEDDING The fifth year of wedded life brings the wooden anniversary and Its Jolly time to celebrate. Tho Invitations may bo written on real' birch bark or the imitation wood paper, which is very attractive. The dato of marriage and the present date placed at the top of the card tell tho story, and the affair may be a reception followed by dancing, danc-ing, cards or a muslcalo. Over the mantel is a good place to place the dates, done In largo wooden letters, and really artistic effects can be worked out with fresh curly shavings shav-ings from the carpenter's shop put over pictures, draped over the curtains cur-tains and used as festoons. A recent occasion was most informal and the gueBts were all near friends. In the living room there were five tables ta-bles and the guests were handed wooden wood-en butter paddles and told they were score cards. At tho first table there were two saws and some pieces of wood. Two ladies were told to see who could saw her piece of wood in two in the shortest time, two men being the judges. At the second table there were two blocks of wood and some nails, the contest con-test being to see which two women could pound the most nails in a given time; two men acted as timekeepers. Three minutes was the limit Table three had lead pencils to be sharpened; sharp-ened; table four had jack straws and checkers. |
