Show CRUISE 700 MILES ! IN A SMALL BOAT New York, Jan. 7 A voyage of 700 miles in a motor boat from a spot in the Atlantic ocean where they had abandoned their sinking ship to the coast of Morocco, was the experience j related by five of the crew of the i American at-nooner Rob Roy on their arrival from Havana today aboard the steamship Mexico. According to the sailors, the Rob Roy sailed from Alicante, Spain, for j Havana and on November IS th pet sel ran into a heavy gale. She sprang j a leak and became waterlogged The vessel was abandoned on No-1 vonber 20 and the captain and crew took to a motor boat they had on board They steered east, hoping to pick up a passing ship or sight laud. After traveling 700 miles without sighting another craft, they landed on the coast of Morocco and made their way to Mogador where ihe appealed to the American consul. The men were sent to the Canary islands. There they boarded a Spanish Steamer for Havana |
