Show SWEDISH ATHLETES INVITED TO U.S. New York, Jan. 7 With the idea of encouraging international companion, the Aamateur Athletir Union has in-' ited A. Bohlin and J. Zanders, two of Sweden's best runners, to compete in the national games in this city, March 17. George F. Pawling of Philadelphia, Phil-adelphia, who sailed on the steamer Kristianlafjord today for Stockholm carried the invitation of the A. A. U. officials to the Sweiah Athletic ; - ciation, together with an offer to defray de-fray expenses. Bohlin and Zanders are star performers per-formers whose records compare favor-ably favor-ably with those of the best amateur runners of the world. Bohlin, ag a rule, confines his running to the 4o6 and 800 meter races, which corre spond with the American quarter and half-mile ovents. Zanders, while he sometimes com-petes com-petes at thees distances, Is better in the longer contests, ranging from 30i'0 to 5000 meteres.
