Show LOGAN HAS A PAY OF PATRIOTISM Logan, June 26. The most patriotic demonstration ever made in Logan was given today In honor of troop H of the Utah national guard, which will leave probably tomorrow for training quarters The celebration began with a gorgeous street parade, which was followed by a meeting on the public square Following the meeting the members of troop H and the immediate immedi-ate families were tendered a dinner, and in the evening a grand ball was held in tho Auditorium. The street parade was led by the Logan Military band, followed by the civil war veterans. W. II. McMayhill of the One Hundred and Thlrty-olghth Illinois infantry, II. V. Hallett of the Fifteenth Michigan cavalry. L. A. Ball of the Third Vermont infantry and Aaron Darling of tho Third Permont Infantry. Following, in the order mentioned, were troop H, N. G. U.; bands from Wellsvillo, Smithfield, Hy-rum, Hy-rum, Richmond and Hyde Park, boy scouts, Beehive Girls, members of the Utah Pharmaceutical association, vho aro holding a convention in Logan; postoffice employes of the Logan office of-fice and tho Commercial Boosters' club. At the meeting President Evan R. Owen of the Commercial club presided. presid-ed. President Elmer George Peterson Peter-son of tho Utah Agricultural college was the first speaker, and he was followed fol-lowed by Lieutenant Eugene Santschl of the Fifteenth infantry. H. V. Hallett Hal-lett related somo reminiscences of his civil war experiences. A resolution was unanimously adopted to support the dependent families of the members of the troop wlille they aro away, The Boosters' quartette sang some patriotic selections for the occasion. |
