Show oo JOHNSON COMES OUT FOR HUGHES. Following Theodore Roosevelt's endorsement en-dorsement of Chas. E. Hughes, Governor Gover-nor Johnson re-enters the Republican fold. This Is tho greatest addition made to tho Hughes forces since the Chicago Chi-cago convention and may prove to be of more benefit to the Republican nominee than oven Roosevelt's approval. ap-proval. Governor Johnson has been a very strong man. His power in California has been great enough to swing a rock-ribbed Republican commonwealth away from the party of its first choice. His Influence now may turn California back to the regular organization. We wonder though what Johnson's enemies among the stalwarts will havo to say as to his return, Johnson to them was tho opposite 'of everything every-thing refined, worthy, patriotic. He was accused of being a blatant doma-. gogue, an opportunist and a scrub.
