Show 1 Society RECITAL AT SACRED HEART. Miss Edna Hamilton who, for the past two years, has been studying vocat in tJosron under a private instructor, in-structor, and John J. Portley, whose clear tenor voice is well known to Ogden Og-den musio lovers, gave a musical recital re-cital in the Sacred Heart academy last evening before an appreciative audience. Miss Hamilton is tho possessor of an unusually sweet soprano voice, and her rich notes filled tho spacious study hall last evening. Miss May Conroy accompanied Miss Hamilton and Miss Cecil Ragan accompanied Mr. Portley. The following numbers were given: The Star J. Miss Franoes Marsh entertained a number of friends at her homo on Porter Por-ter avenuo last evening. Musical numbers Including vocal and Instrumental Instru-mental solos were enjoyed. A pleasant pleas-ant feature of tho entertainment was the violin, solos by Miss Sara Albert. Al-bert. Later Mls3 Marsh served a three-course three-course luncheon. Tho dining room and parlors were prettily decorated In autumn fashion. Mrs. Fred Cannon returned to Ogden Og-den Thursday after a pleasant ten days visit with Mrs. Jack Binks of Salt Lake City. FROM TEXAS. Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett of Texas have been the housoguests of Mrs. S. C. Bauchman, 140 West Twenty-second street, for tho past week; also Mr. Bennett's sister, Miss Kath-ryn Kath-ryn Bennett, who is attending the Sacred Heart academy here. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett also visited through the northern part of the state and en-Joyed en-Joyed a trip to Yellowstone. They are former residents of Ogden and state their sumris at Its rapid growth. MEL.ON PARTY. Thursday afternoon a number of high school boys and girls enjoyed a watormelon party. Tho young people peo-ple departed In autos to Ogden canyon can-yon where the melon feast was staged.
