Show Society RECEPTION IS BRILLIANT. Yesterday noon in the Salt Lake Temple Elder Adolph Madson performed per-formed tho marriage ceremony for Miss Pearl Tracy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs D. S. Tracy of Ogden, and Gilbert II. Ballantyne, pon of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Ballentyne of Baker City, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. Ballantyne returned to Ogden immediately Tollowing the ceremony cer-emony and were tendered a beautiful reception at the home of the bride's parents, 242 Twenty-first street, last evening to which more than 150 persons, per-sons, parents of tho bridal couple, relatives and many close friends were invited. A . number of Weber academy classmates of ffm iririo nriH trroom wero nrosent. Both Mr and Mrs. Ballantyne are graduates of tho Weber academy. Tho Tracy homewas most beautifully beauti-fully decorated. In tho parlor and library a color scheme of white and yellow was perfectly carried out with white and yellow chrysanthemums. In one cornor white and yellow chrysanthemums, chrys-anthemums, torns and palms formed an attractive nuptial bower beneath which the bride and groom received their guests. The bride was attended attend-ed by her sister, Miss Vera Tracy, as bridesmaid, who was very pretty in a gown of pink satin with pink chiffon overdress and carried a bouquet bou-quet of pink Madam Ward roses. Thy brido wore an exquiBlte gown of white Duchess satin and real lace and carried car-ried a bouquet of bride's roses. The groom was attended by his brother, Ray Ballantyne of Baker City, Ore. In tho reception hall where red roses wore used in decorating, Mrs. D. S. Tracy, Mrs. J. H. White of Salt Lake City, Mrs. J. M. Tracy and the Misses Norlne Moyes and Irene White formed the receiving line. During the evening a finely balanced balanc-ed trio, comprising Austin Sooy, cellist; cel-list; Marcellus Smith, violinist, and Ernest Oborn, pianist, furnished a program of popular and classical music mu-sic which proved to bo one of the most enjoyable features of the evening even-ing From 9 until 12 o'clock a perfectly per-fectly appointed buffet luncheon was served by caterers from tho Green-well Green-well confectionery. The dining room was a perfect bower of pink roses and the dining table was exceptionally pretty with a large French basket of pink roses tied with bows of pink maline. A huge bow of maline on tho chandelier was connected with four streamers attached to as many bows and formed a square in the middle of the large table On either side of the table was a coffee service serv-ice over which Mrs. Dr. J W. Pld-cock Pld-cock and sister, Miss Julia Moyes, presided. pre-sided. During the evening Miss Llle Lander and Miss Lois Harriott served serv-ed delicious fruit punch. The happy couple was tendered many lovely gifts of silverware, cut glass, pictures and household articles. Among the gifts was a telegram of congratulations from the president of the American Lumber and Manufacturing Manufac-turing company of Pittsburg and a valuable gift of silverware. Mr. Ballantyne is manager of the 3aker City branch of tho Lumber and Manufacturing company of Pittsburg. Shortly after 12 o'clock the guests leparted, oxtending their heartiest congratulations and receiving a neat little box containing a piece of wed- IH ding cake. H Mr. and Mrs. Ballantyne later de- H parted for Baker City where they will 1 H mako their home. j H The reception altogether was a I vWm most enjoyable affair and one of the prettiest ever held in this city. H ANNUAL MEETING. H The First Ward W. C. T. TJ. met H on Wcdnesdav at the home of Mrs. IH H. Christenson and held the annual mWm meetipg. After reports and other H business officers for the next year H were elected as follows: M President, Miss Leota S. Kennedy; H vice president, Mrs. J. W. Welch; sec-1 IH retary, Mrs. Ida Brown; treasurer, H Mrs. Christenson; membership secre- H tary, Mrs. E. Bowers. M The following were elected as dele- H gates to the state convention: Mrs. H Welch and Miss Kennedy, ex-offlclo, H and Mrs. G. A. Muller and Mrs. H. H Christenson, representative. IH At the close of the meeting the mm hostess assisted by little Miss Brown 1 served delicious refreshments. H GUEST OF MRS. GUNNELL.
