Show COMPENSATION ACT IN OREGON Salem. Ore.. April 8 W A Marshall, Mar-shall, chairman of the Industrial accident ac-cident insurance commission, stated today that 80 per ceut of the 4,541 firms in Oregon listed under the workmen's work-men's compensation act would be entitled en-titled to receive 10 per cent reduction reduc-tion In their respective rates on .Tulv 1 next This reduction la made possible through an amendment to the compensation com-pensation act enacted by the recent legislature. It is designed to encourage encour-age employers to install additional safeguards for their workmen, providing provid-ing that whenever for a period of twelve months the amounts paid out or set apart by an employer on account ac-count of injuries to the workmen do not exceed fltty per cent of the em plovers contribution, his rate shall be reduced ton per cent. |
