Show KEATING DIES FROM CARBOLIC ACID Francis Keating, who drank a quantity of carbolic acid at the Walker Walk-er rooming house about 3 o'clock yesterday yes-terday afternoon with suicidal Intent, died about an hour later. His body was removed to the KIrdendall mortuary mor-tuary pending funeral arrangements. The dead man's' rash act, it is thought, was committed In a flt of despondency, following a quarrel with his wife several hours before. He apparently ap-parently planned the deed about 2 o'clock, as he made an effort to procure pro-cure carbolic acid at the Fulton drug store about that hour. The druggist, I Clyde Fulton, refused to sell to him and he later obtained it a Major's drug store. His screams, which, followed the drinking of the acid, brought his wife to his side and, in answer to a telephone call to the police station. Detective Charles Plncock, Chauffeur Guy Nelson and Dr. Henry "W. Nelson were quickly on the scene They were too late, however, to have Keatlng"a life, though every possible effort was made. Born in New York, Keating had lived in Ogden two years. He was laid off at tho local Southern Pacific shops two weeks ago and unemployment, coupled with family troubles, the po-llco po-llco say, was tho cause of his rash act.
