Show MAN'S SANITY - TO BE TESTED Attorneys Plead for C. Bulger, Bul-ger, Sentenced to Die Before Midnight Saturday, Before Be-fore Supreme Court. Denver, Colo., Nov 5 The Colorado Colora-do supreme court today was to listen to arguments regarding the present mental condition of James C. Bulger, sentenced to die before midnight Saturday Sat-urday for tho murder of Lloyd F. Nicodemus, in May 1914. Attorneys for the condemned man aro endeavoring endeavor-ing to secure a stay of execution pending pend-ing an investigation or Bulger's sanity, san-ity, holding that to carry out tho mandate of the jury and court would bo to take the life of an insane man. The stnto board of pardons has refused re-fused to recommend clemency for Bulger Bul-ger and Governor Carlson has de clined to Interfere Bulger's solo hope now lies with such action as may result re-sult from today's hearing. The district dis-trict court yesterday refused a writ of habeas corpus for Bulger, holding thnt ho had not been unlawfully deprived de-prived of his liberty |
