Show 1 Society WILL ATTEND DANCE. February 10 the Salt Lake post-office post-office employes will give a grand ball to which the Ogden postofflce employes em-ployes have been invited. Last February Febru-ary the Salt Lakers were entertained by the Ogden organization at an elaborate elabo-rate party, given in the Colonial dancing academy. For later in the season the Ogden employes have planned to glvo a social so-cial affair to which the Salt Lakers will be invited. RETURNS FROM LOS ANGELES. George R. Roberts, cashier of the Ha,rnman Lines has just returned from Los Angeles, Mrs. Roberts is registered at Hotel Snow in Los Angeles An-geles and will probably remain there for three or four months or until the good weather returns to Utah. Her physical condition has materially improved im-proved since leaving this city. HISTORICAL SOCIETY. Tomorrow afternoon at 2; 30 o'clock Mrs. J. S. Gordon, 551 Twenty-fifth street 'will be hostess to the Historical Histori-cal society. Mrs. E. G. Corfman will be the guest of honor. 500 CLUB. Mrs A. P. Hlbbs will entertain the 500 club tomorrow afternoon at 3 o clock at her residence at 2223 Ad ams. CHARITY CONCERT AND BALL. Monday evening in the Fourth ward amusement hall a charity concert and ball will be given. The musicale iwill begin at 8 o'clock in the meeting house and at 9:30 dancing will be enjoyed in the amusement hall. The program consists of the following old-time old-time dances: Grand March, Waltz, Two Step. Plain Quadrille. Waltz, Polka, Virginia Reel, Schottische, Plain Lancers, Waltz. Scotch Reel. Polka, Plain Quadrille, Surveon Waltz, Waltz, Quadrille, German, Danish Slide. Glide Lancers. Tucker Quadrille,, Home, Sweet Home The proceeds derived from the affair af-fair will go to the needy families of the Fourth ward. OWLS' ANNUAL BALL. Ogden Nest 1218, Order of Owls, held its annual ball last night at the New Colonial hall The affair proved the most successful one given by the order for more than two years, there being more than 400 persons present. A choice program of dances, including several extras, had been arranged by the committee and excellent music was played by Grant's New Colonial oi chestra The floor committee gave efficient service and this, combined with a service of fruit and claret punch of excellent quality salted peanuts and vanilla wafers, made the party one of rare enjoyment. RED CROSS TEAS. The ladies of Ogden have been giving giv-ing Red Cross teas during the wtu-ter wtu-ter season with verv gratifying results re-sults They hav raised $250 for the Red Cross relief fund and $100 more will bo raised, the total to be sent to Red Cross headquarters. A pleasing affair was enjoyed by I. O. O. F. Lodge No. 5 last Tuesday evening In the entertainment of Grand J Lodge officers from Utah The visitors visit-ors were Grand Master W. M. Scott, Deputy Grand Master Roy Watrous, Deputy Grand Master Lon Candland, Grand Secretary P. A. Slmpkin and Past Grand Wm Emery 0f Salt Lake No. 2. Grand Master Scott gave a very interesting in-teresting talk on the growth, financial condition and general history of the lodge. The address of the evening was delivered by Grand Secterary Slmpklns. Enthusiasm raged rampant throughout the hall while the parson was speaking, and it was only by promising to return soon that he was allowed to close, after speaking for an hour and twenty minutes. The dining room was artistically decorated for the occasion orange, green and gold being the color scheme throughout. Luncheon was served in a pleasing manner, about 100 participating. Cigars were passed around and a smoker enjoyed until the members dispersed. |
