Show PAYROLLS SHOW MEN'S jARNIlS Chicago, Jan. 29 Payrolls showing just what were the earnings of engineers, engi-neers, firemen and hostlers on the ninety-eight western railroads involved in-volved in tho arbitration of wage demands de-mands of their enginemen, were introduced in-troduced here today The payrolls gave the names, hours and days of service and earnings for the month of October, 1913, of 28.-446 28.-446 engineers, 32,321 firemen, 2688 motormen. motormen helpers and hostlers, hos-tlers, employed on 140,000 miles of railroad. A synopsis of the exhibit given out on behalf of the committee repre sentlng the railroads said that it showed the names of 64,000 employes of the roads. Passenger engineers, said the synopsis, earned an averago of $184 in October, 1913; engineers in through or irregular freight service, $170, and engineers In local or way freight service, 5172 Passenger firemen fire-men earned an average of $113; Tn through or irregular freight service. $110, and In local or way freight service $105.
