Show COUNTY MAY AID IN I 0UILD1 A ROAD I SOUTH OF CITY I At the suggestion and request of a j committee of business men and mem- j bers of the Weber club, the County i board of commissioners this morning authorized County Surveyor Ralph Corley to survey the county thorough- fare extending from Thirty-sixth street, the city limits, to Fortieth I street, with a view to determining what will be necessary to make a roadway commensurate with the road f Improvements proposed in the district r leading from Fortieth street through lithe li-the prospective residential destricts in I what is known as Washington j Heights The surveyor was also in- I" structed to make an estimate of the approximate cost of any road improve- I ment. The committeo called to the atten-tion atten-tion of the board the fact that work has actually begun on the improve- F ment of Washington avenue, extend- Ing south from Fortieth street. I Speaking of the suggested improve- f ment, Chairman Moroni Skeen stated that it could not bo stated at thl3 time just what steps the board will take, except that the county surveyor tn 'ho rennlred to estimate the cost and report on the physical conditions. after which tho board will give th question further consideration. He ! said that he was certain that tho j board will do all within its power to aid in the development of the South Washington district, but that It was impossible to determine just what Jj amount of money can be expended on such a project. Macadam road building will be completed com-pleted In the Eden district this week, according to the report of the road commissioner, and a force of men and teams is now improving the roads of Roy and Kanesvlllo.
