Show oo LABOR 010IS REPLY TO TOE MOOR EMIR Editor Standard- Judging from the editorial in Sunday's Examiner, one would imagine that tho article submitted sub-mitted by the Ogdn Building Trade.s Council to be published In the Ogden Examiner, made threats of extortion, attempts at blackmail, etc. We herewith submit tho communication communi-cation which we offered the Examiner without the rbaiiglng of one single word, and we ak i bw public to judgu between us and that newspaper, and , we specially ask if there is anything in the communication which should entitle us to be called blackmailers loafers nnd bum. We ask nothing but a hearing and we believe that newspapers that cater to the working- men should at leant be fetr enough to grant us space. We did not ask much Here is the article: A VOICE FROM LABOFL "Boost for Utah-made uooda has been the one thernw and has boen on the lips of practically every person lu the etate for tb pt weoa, and no better motto was over used than this Boosts have come from every walk of life, and nearly every branch of lnduatry ha been booat4 ts the limit, and the result will be for tb betterment of all concerned. &ut Id. the general order of boosting on of the greatest products of Utah has been entirely overlooked that of la bor. In boosting for Utah-made goods the boosters must not lose sight of the fact that the principal part of these products are consumed by the working class and that they should al ways be considered in all of, their transactions. Is it fair to labor in Utah for the boosters to ask labor to patronize home industry and at the same time for them to refuse to use Utah labor? "Let us call your attention to the fact that the state capitol building, now bemg built in Salt Lake City, is being erected b foreign contractors, foreign material and in most part Dy foreign labor. "Is this fair to labor In Utah? In our own district we call your attention atten-tion to the new cereal factory being now erected in Ogden under practically practic-ally tho same conditions. Is this fair to labor in Ogden'' Laborers in Utah are always boosting for home prod ucts and they in return insist that their products be not overlooked and that Utah labor as well as Utah-made Utah-made goods and material be used. Reynolds, Committee " People of Utah, look this article over carefully and see if you can detect de-tect any blackmail spots in it Then look it over again and see if you can see why the clean sheet turned it down. Then answer two questions for us and the defense rests. Who are some of the stockholders in the clean sheet? And who are stockholders stockhold-ers in the food plant and elevators now being built by foreign labor' (Signed) Building Trades Council; By Walking Delegates H. L Peerman, Grant Syphers and J. B.
