Show MINE TO BE SEARCHED FOR BANDIT LOPEZ Bfngham, Dec. 30. That the search of the bulkheaded part of the Apex mine for the body of Lopez, the Mexican Mex-ican bandit, will not be put off longer than the last of the week Is generally general-ly understood here, though the definite defi-nite day is not being given out. Sheriff Andrew Smith Jr., received a telegram from the chief of police of San Diego, Cal., yesterday asking for a description of Lopez The tele gram explained that an Italian at headquarters there claimed to have assisted the Mexican from the mine on Christmas and Insisted that the bandit was somewhere in San Diego. Sheriff Smith sent the requested description, de-scription, though placmg no confidence confi-dence in the story. It Is understood that the searching posse will be made up of the follow ing members: Deputy Sheriff Atha Williams, S S. JoneB, DrD. F E. Straup.. Ray Clays, O Brlmhall, Deputy Dep-uty Sheriff Julius Sorenson and J. D. Cortelle. Of these, Jones. Clavs and Brimhall are very familiar with the workings The others except Depu ty Sheriff Williams, who superintended superintend-ed the placing of the last bulkheads, have taken part in searches i the mine before. oo |
