B Johnson, president of the American league, and member of the National baseball commission, last night. Johnson said the entrance of the new league, if properly financed, financ-ed, would do more to the Improvement Improve-ment of baseball than anything since the American and National league revolution. "I court the Federal league oppo sition," he said, "and I believe It will prove one of the best things that ever has happened for the benefit or" organized baseball. "A revolution occasionally can do no harm and while some of the weak S5S55B555 BSB5HBgg er ones may suffer If the Federals co through with all they have promised.. I believe the end of next season will show a better brand of baseball, with better conditions for the p'ayers and better prospects for the owners "I am sincere when I say that i court thp fight and that the Amerl can league Is well prepared to bat tie to the bitter end " oo |
