Show SMUGGLED RECORDS OP COUNTY BEFORE GRAND JURY During the day the grand jury took up the recent smuggling of records from the vaults of the county clerk's office and tha mutilatlnir of tho rec ords In order to take photographs for a newspaper publication. The papens takcm were vouchors and paid claims of Salt Lake firms for gowns for the Weber county queen and maids at the state fair. In connection with the halftone cuts of the vouchers, Commissioner John "T. Bybee and the other commissioners com-missioners were criticised for making mak-ing purchases of goods in Salt Lake for the young ladles representing Weber county at the fair and tho county clerk was questioned by tho board of commissioners as to how the papers were secured in order to photograph them. The clerk gave his version of the affair to the. commissioners, com-missioners, saying that the records were taken from the vaults without his .consent or knowledge and that they had been mutilated. The affair was then called to the attention of tho grand jury. |
