Show OLYMPIC FUND IS VOTED DOWN Berlin, Jan. 15. The budget committee com-mittee of the imperial parliament today to-day rejected a proposition to appropriate appro-priate $50,000 for the Olympic games to be held here in 1916 The rejection of the appropriation was due largely to the feeiing of resentment re-sentment prevailing among the Socialists Soci-alists over the government's allied systematic prosecution of the work-ingmon's work-ingmon's gymnastic societies. The Socialist deputies voted In a body against the appropriation and the Clericals joined them, declaring that It was no business of the empire to support such "private affair?.'' The proposed appropriation will probably be reintroduced in a plenary plen-ary sitting of the Imperial parliament |
