Show Society 1 NOB HILL G. A. C. A special meeting of the Nob Hill i. A. C. club was held Tuesday afternoon af-ternoon in the form of a surprise for Mrs. Roy Griffin, a member, ho leaves soon to make her home n I en er. The affair was a complete surprise 10 Mrs. Griffin, who expressed her gratitude In a neat little speech. Delicious refreshments were broucht by the ladles who assisted Mrs. Grit rin in serving, covers being laid for the following: Mesdames L. P. Cutting, L. K. Mew-combe, Mew-combe, E. W. Newcombe, Valentine Gideon, J. R. Wills. Erb, Daniels, R. G. Agee and daughters. Bell, RGlpii Corlew and son, R. Fields and chil dren, Phillips, J. Smith, Carr, Tracey and Mies Alice Wiggins. The club's new baby. Miss Virginia Mary Agee, was fully initiated to membership after which the ladies departed wishing Mrs. Griffin happl ness in her new home. SOCIETIES HOLD JOINT MEETING Seeking to promote the cause of "good citizenship" among the chil dren of Ogden and to make plans for the individual and school garden contests con-tests for 1914. representatives of the Ladies' Literary society, the Historical Historic-al society and the Child Culture club, met yesterday afternoon in the office of-fice of the Thomas D. Dee company In the First National bank, and organized or-ganized for a systematic campaign of work along the lines mentioned. A plan w?s also arranged at the meeting, to call regular monthly meet lngs of the several branches of the "Good Citizenship" league tor tha purpose pur-pose of giving and obtaining instruc tlon in all subjects relative to the object ob-ject for which the league was organized. organ-ized. At these meetings special attention at-tention will be paid to the subject Of making Ogden a more beautiful city Among the duties of the league members, which are mentioned in the l.y-laws are the following: "It shall be the duty of each member mem-ber of the league to assist in making Ogden a clean and more beautiful ity; to take an active part in the oh servance of an annual municipal clean-up day and of Arbor day. Each member agrees to observe the follow Ing rules: Do not throw down any paper, do not throw down any fruit, do not throw down any rubbish; do not Injure any property; observe all city ordinances." GRAND BALL TONIGHT. To night at the new Colonial, the annual ball of Perseverance lodge No. 9S. Firemen and Engtnemen will be given.
