Show PLANT TREES IS THE ADVICE OF STITE OFFICIAL A. C. Mathoson, state superintendent superintend-ent of public Instruction, yesterday Issued Is-sued to nil the schools of the state copies of his Arbor day bulletin containing con-taining the governor's proclamation and a letter from himself to the superintendent su-perintendent and teachers of Utah. Superintendent Matheson's suggestions sugges-tions follow : "In the governor's Arbor day proclamation, proc-lamation, the schools of the state ar invited to observe Arbor day with appropriate cxerclse3.i This invitation invita-tion contains a privilege, the significance signifi-cance of which we shall do well to make plain to the children. "He that planteth a tree is a servant of God, He provideth a kindness for many generations. And faces that he hath not seen shall bless him." Henry Van Dyke-"In Dyke-"In our valleys and on our mountains, moun-tains, trees abound for our profit and pleasure. Trees flowers, shrubs and vines adorn public and private grounds and enrich the homes of our people. This plant life enters vitally into the welfare of our communities. Trees axe our friends, without which we should have a feeling of utter loneliness. lone-liness. To appreciate this truth a person but needs to pass over treeless tree-less plains or barren wastes' or to visit a city whose sterile soil refuses to bring forth and sustain plant life.
