Show MOT I Western Governors Express Decided Opinions, Some of Them Hostile to Plan. Denver, Colo., April 8. General discussion, of tho system of leasing the public domain, with particular reference to tho leasing bill now before be-fore congress, featured tbo second day's session of the Western Governors' Gover-nors' conference, here. The executives execu-tives expressed decided opinions, some of them hostile to the proposed measure. It was decided, however, not to go on record in a resolution until un-til after hearing the views of the government officials at the irrigation conference, to be held later in the week. The governors adopted a report of a committee consisting of Governors Ernest Lister of Washington; E. M. Ammons of Colorado, and William Spry of "Utah, recommending a final session of the governors' conference after the close of the irrigation conference. con-ference. At that session action will be taken by the state executives on tho leasing bill. |
