Show , CHICAGO GRAIN Chicago, 111., April 8. Although the wheat market promptly responded , today to-day to the bearish crop figures from Washington, prices soon"ralllod to a considerable extent. Many tradei-B also were disposed to regard the 'government 'gov-ernment report as having been pretty well discounted in advance. Quotations Quota-tions after opening 1-4 to 34c lower, rallied to nearly Monday night's level. Corn rose on account of the absence ab-sence of selling pressure. The few speculators who expeoted weakness in sympathy with wheat were quickly forced to over. Prices opened a shade off to l-4c up and then made a material advance all around. Unfavorable seeding conditions put firmness into oats. Besides the market mar-ket was inolined to follow the bulge In corn. Provisions went higher with bogs. First sales were 2 l-25 to 7 l-2c up and there was no sign of any important im-portant reaction. Uneasiness over delay In seeding northwest helped to sustain the wheat market Closing prices were firm at the same as Monday night to l-4c off. Later, the purchase of 240,000 bushels bush-els of Argentine corn to come to Chicago Chi-cago in May had a temporary bearish effect. The close was nervous at l-8l-4 to l-2c net advance.
